Y TRAN
My involvement with yoga began in 2006 as a means to achieving physical fitness, but soon became an abiding passion. In 2007, I was certified by the Department of Sports of Ho Chi Minh City as a licensed yoga instructor. Thereafter, I began to teach my first Hatha Yoga class.

Since becoming a full-time yoga instructor, I have held classes at various studios in Saigon, including  L’Apothiquaire, Yoga Living, and Cantavil. I have also been conducting regular private classes. In addition, I have gained valuable international experience through short courses in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

In March 2010, I received my 200-hour certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Academy (www.sivananda.org) under the tutelage of gurus Swami Sitaramananda and Swami Pranavananda.

I welcome students of all levels to my classes. Sharing yoga with them is a fulfilling and rewarding experience that I cherish.

I teach two styles of yoga:

Sivanananda Yoga: A classical and holistic approach to Hatha Yoga that stretches and tones the whole body. The teachings have survived intact and are practised as originally presented in India by Swami Sivananda in 1936.  It is a complete healing system designed to help the body maintain a naturally healthy state. Sivananda training involves periodic relaxation and emphasises full, yogic breathing.

Flow Yoga: An active style of yoga which links various asanas (poses) together in a fluid manner and along with proper breathing, brings about a perfect balance of energy and calm to the body and mind.

“Health is wealth. Peace of mind is happiness. Yoga shows the way.”
